I am fascinated by the Japanese love of cartoon representations rather than boring old stick figures.

That last photo brings up another subject. Japanese cleanliness and fastidiousness. Every car shines like new. No dents or dings. No side view mirrors duct taped on or cardboard-taped broken windows.
In museums, if one touches a glass case, an attendant with a small cloth materializes and wipes any mark left.
Bathrooms spotless. No trash. Toilet paper always stocked.
Sanitizer dispensers everywhere and they are never empty.
Wrapped, damp hand towels or wipes given before every meal at restaurants.
About 1/3 to 1/2 of locals wear masks, even outside.
