A brief mention for food. I have no pictures. But breakfast was provided by the hotel and what a spread it was. All kinds of breads and cheeses, jams, muesli (thinking of you Wynette and Charlie) with all kinds of add ons like lingon berries, sunflower seeds, etc. juices and smoothies. Eggs. Fruits. Coffee. Overnight oats.
As for the day, we debated about whether: to take an expedition to Ystadt, home of the fabulous Wallander series where one can visit the studios where the Swedish series was filmed, walk the streets where Wallander walked, and get a cinnamon bun at the same cafe Wallander stopped in at. OR head to Lund, home of the oldest University in Sweden with world class Culture and History museums. I’d been to both on my travels 7 years ago so I left it to Grubb to pick.
Lund it was. We headed to Malmo station to catch the train to Lund. And then the confusion hit. We saw on the display the trains going in the right direction but each time we arrived at the specified train platform and asked, we were told “oh no, this is a special train. You need a special ticket”. Finally, one attendant told us o go to the platforms down below. I guess if you are only going one stop, you go to the basement trains. Eventually we found the right trains.
Grubb is now a lover of Lund and we made a great find of an art museum. So stand by for those posts.
A few photos of Lund.
I remember having overnight oats in Scotland. I hadn’t known oatmeal could be that good.
Those were good! These were actually cold served in a small glass. I’ll try to remember to get a pic tomorrow morning.
Tulips are extraordinary!!!!! They don’t look like that in Connecticut EVER!!!!
