Sea sick anyone?
Neither of us thought we’d be particularly susceptible to sea sickness and so far, so good. But just for good measure, when told the seas might be rough last night, we decided to purchase sea sick tablets from the shop on the boat. Boy, they totally knocked us out. Me especially. You looking for an over-the-counter sleeping pill, try these.
Hidden malls
Walking along the street, wandering in and out of shops, all of a sudden, one leads to a giant multi-storied mall. We found them in Oslo, Bergen, Ålesund.
Lectures
There is a daily lecture, or two, or three, aboard ship. One is always briefing about what happened today and what might happen tomorrow. Today we had a talk on the history of navigation in Scandinavia.
Up on the observation deck, a 5 minute talk on a lighthouse we were about to pass plus a mussel tasting.
Very cool lighthouse. It combines the tower and the keeper’s lodge. It must be pretty exciting to be there in a big storm. It’s not clear exactly what it is built on.
There are all kinds of granite-like rocks which look like little islands. Thai must be on one of those. And, it’s available for rentals for events or if you really want to get away. The only thing is, when the sea gets rough, you aren’t guaranteed to get picked up when you want.
Thanks for the ice cream info, but those flavors are a hard pass from me!
I had to try.
