Another travel day but different. We docked in Tromsø at 14:15 but had to check out of our cabin at noon. We stashed our luggage in the luggage room, conveniently located on our deck. Spent a couple hours hangin’ on the observation deck, sipping cappuccinos, chatting with new friends.
In truth, not much to say about today. Our apartment is in the middle of a very small city center. We walked a few blocks this way and that way, had a meal. That’s it. Well, I am still rocking even on solid ground. Something called “mal de debarquement”. Could I translate that to “sick deboarding”?
Tromso has the feel of a Colorado mountain town, like Gunnison, say. Except that Tromso is on an island, positioned between the Norwegian and Barents Seas. And Tromsø is 220 miles above the Arctic Circle at a latitude of about 69.7°.
