Today would be the highest temperature we would get during our three day stay in Tromsø. A high of 48°F and rain on and off all day. Seemed the perfect time for a ride on the Fjellheisen (cable car).
Took a little head scratching to figure out the busses. Well, not the busses, but how to buy tickets. I started with the app Troms Billet. Buying seemed straight forward until I got to the payment. Only credit cards and no way to enter your name so naturally the card would be declined. Apple Pay was not accepted. So forget that. Googling a bit, we found a place that sold bus tickets just down the street. Problem solved.
We got to the bus stop, boarded the #28 bus. A few minutes later we were crossing the bridge to the mainland and a few minutes after that, we got off the bus and hiked up to the cable car base station. Just time to get the next ride up to Storsteinen (the big rock).
Gorgeous views at the top (1,381 ft) and nowhere for the trolls to hide.
By the time we got back down, there was a break in the clouds so we decided to walk back to Tromso (about 30 minutes) which meant walking across the bridge.
The weather here in Albuquerque is quite pleasant at the moment with lots of late spring flowers in bloom…. And when you get back we will start the really hot season. Bad timing perhaps?
We were just wondering whether we really needed to go home. The cold weather has been rather nice, although the bundling up is a nuisance. And Stockholm, where we head tomorrow looks unbelievably pleasant.
