Gamla Stan, a small island and the venerable Old Town of Stockholm was a nice way to spend part of our first full day in Stockholm. The town dates back to the 16th century. We find the Nobel Prize Museum with a fascinating look at every winner (and things they developed or mementos), the Storkyrkan (Cathedral), the Iron Boy (smallest statue) and other things to take in and where nothing is more than a 5 minute walk away.
Photos from the streets of Gamla Stan.
in the courtyard of the Finnish Church stands Järnpojke, The Iron Boy, at 15cm high. Originally called Little Boy looking at the Moon, this little boy will bring you luck if you pat his head, so c’mon over and have a try.
Out of respect for your father, or at least his business, there is a postage stamp museum in Gamla Stan. Since I collected stamps as a child, I enjoyed it.
We did pass by that museum as we were walking around.
