We have started on our latest travel adventure.
Part 1: Visit the cousins! We flew into Providence, RI today, picked up our rental car then made tracks for Cape Cod where we are excited to visit Barry & Dierdre, and Marc & Judi, conveniently located in Barnstable and Harwich, respectively. And by the way, we didn’t intersect with Hurricane Lee. After that, we head back west to Connecticut to visit Sharen & Tom and where we can also visit the farm and surroundings where my mom was born (in 1921) and where she spent her childhood until going off to college. Finally, we head north to Sudbury, just outside of Boston, where we are thrilled to visit with Joe & Elaine.
Part 2: Here comes the road trip. We head north up the coast of Maine, west through New Hampshire and the White Mountains, continuing on through Vermont to Burlington. Then we turn south, meandering through the Green Mountains and finally ending in Providence.
Love to hear tips and suggestions if you’ve been here.
Lake Champlain in Western Vermont is stunning especially fall foliage.
On the list!
I used to live in Sudbury, zip code 01776 (much fought over by locals — Concord thought it ought to have that zip code). First job after my Ph.D. was at the, long abandoned, Sperry Research Center (if you remember Univac computers).
Of course the Univac. I worked at Honeywell for a spell. They had bought part of Sperry.
Burroughs 5500… a very interesting computer.
