Walking West Barnstable

Posted on September 18, 2023September 18, 2023 by Ella

Barry and Deirdre have lived on the Cape in West Barnstable  for decades. First up yesterday morning, a walking history tour. with Barry and  Deirdre. A seafaring, rural community in a lush green setting. We learned about Cape style homes (did you know there is a full Cape, 3/4 Cape and 1/2 Cape?). We walked into the Table Company where antique boards from old buildings are cut, polished, finished and built into dining tables. We strolled by the local library and the church. Glimpsed the Kindness Rock Art Project, walked the labyrinth (and realized there is a difference between a labyrinth and a maze), toddled by the West Barnstable animal feed store.

I was the only one in our group who actually walked the labyrinth😂 Cape is rich in history and great restaurants!

Did you think about buying this picnic-table-with-goat?

I thought the goat was channeling the spirit of a wise old Chinaman, so I was loath to disturb him.
