In Boothbay Harbor our accommodation was at Howard House Lodge, conveniently located right off Route 27 on the outskirts of Boothbay. The Lodge is small, about 25 rooms. The room was spacious with a balcony overlooking a wooded area. And super quiet. On our first night, we were the only guests. The second night, there was one other car in the parking area but we never saw any people. The host, Jenny, was full of suggestions for places to visit along the way to our next destination, Northeast Harbor.
In Northeast Harbor, we stayed at the Harbourside Inn sporting 15 rooms. Charming, comfortable, clean. We had a suite on the second floor. A continental breakfast was provided in a communal area downstairs where guests could trade information about trails in Acadia. There are hundreds of trails to choose from in the Park and just as many in the areas outside of the park so getting tips is helpful. The hosts, Christie and family, were welcoming and had lots of local information.
