Heading into the last days of our trip. Today, from Burlington, Vt. To Sunderland, Vt.
Although we’ve mostly been staying off the Interstates in favor of the less traveled roads, today we wanted to make a detour to Sugarbush (Maple syrup and cheese farm) and Woodstock (historical buildings, traffic jam rivaling Stowe and maple creemees) before heading to Sunderland which is where we are now. It was a fast trip to Sugarbush then slower than molasses (or maple syrup) on back roads to Sunderland because it’s road construction season.
Beautiful place here in Sunderland. Views from the front porch. And it’s an apartment on the lower level of a very large house. Not a cabin, or a cottage.
Can’t you prolong this trip—all 5 Great Lakes? Rural Indiana? Nashville? Mississippi Delta? We need entertainment and instruction!
A Great Lakes road trip! That is a great idea.
In Manchester, the Southern Vermont Arts Center is great. Outdoor sculptures and trails, excellent exhibitions (check out Sally Mavor) and a great restaurant. Also in town, a terrific bookstore.
Wow. Timing is everything. I just said to Grubb that we should get going and do something and then your post came. That is the perfect thing! Thank you.
