We’ve already posted bits and pieces about our lovely but long day winding through the Andes right up to the Chilean border.
Our companions (as previously mentioned) were:
Nick and Patricia ( pronounced Patrees-ia) she Brazilian, he Australian, met in Canada when they attended the same conference. Nick moved to Rio and here they are 15 years later having left the kids with the grandparents for a few days. Patricia started out as a coder so we immediately bonded.
Bjorn, Norwegian but lives in London, a self declared bachelor and world traveler and also our geo-splainer. He’d been some kind of analyst for Shell oil.
Our guide Ezekiel and driver Bruno. Ezekiel and Bruno both born and bred in Mendoza. Ezekiel is a full time guide.
Photos never do it justice but wending through the Andes, taking in the jagged, rocky peaks, the dry valleys, hearing the history and geology was a joy. Feeling the immensity, age and power of the natural elements makes the often ridiculous political world recede for a few hours.
Here are a selection of photos. There may be some duplication with previously posted photos but who can remember…
I like seeing exotic signage. So no climbing the bridge railing. Even to get a really amazing selfie?
Some have tried…
