This morning we had intended to do a walking tour but torrential rains changed that plan. There is an outfit called guruwalks that provides “free” walking tours all over the world. Not really free. You pay what you want. I had signed us up for a walk with Jorge but as the rain poured down and thunder clapped, I texted Jorge suggesting that maybe today was not the day for a two hour walk around the city. He totally agreed.
Plan B. Ubers & museums. Every now and again I fumbled with taking pics while holding an umbrella. Charlie and Wynette, I was wishing for one of your fancy rain jacket / poncho thingies that is keeping you dry on the Camino.
More details on the museums later – Andes Museum about the 1972 plane crash, Visual Arts museum with a large collection of Uruguayan artists, and Contemporary art – turned out to be closed – we discovered just as our Uber dropped us off and pulled away.
Here is just a peek at the city streets of Montevideo.
We sat down to a late lunch / early dinner at Jacinto. Another successful fine dining experience.
