Dinner tonight somewhere off Saint Germain, not far from Notre Dame which is where we were when we got hungry.
Shared starter: Escargot (snails) in a buttery pesto sauce. A first for Ella. Quite pleasant. On the right side of the plate you can see a clamp-like device that lets you hold the shell while you dig out the meat with a tiny fork.
Ella’s entree: Salmon tartare with ginger and lime served with fresh spinach. The ginger and lime gave a zing to the raw salmon.
Grubb’s entree: Confit de canard, Ducks legs are slow cooked in fat for melt in your mouth goodness.
Sorry, no dessert. Although Grubb had a decadent pastry at a stop for cappuccino earlier in the day while on the search for the Danse de la Fontaine Emergente (oh yes, Grubb will expand on that one).
