This morning we took a bus to the large Nordiska Museet on the island of Djurgården in central Stockholm.
The Museet deals with the cultural history of Sweden since the 16th century. First, the long hallway devoted to fashion, then a short hallway length tribute to Strindberg, followed by display cases of cuisine leading to dioramas of Swedish celebrations held throughout the year.
Santa Lucia was celebrated by my uncle’s family when I was growing up. All four of my cousins at one time or another on the second Sunday in December wore the crown of candles and served my aunt and uncle breakfast in bed.
