Our big meal of the day was a hit. Especially after the cacophony of the immersive Kahlo experience. Grubb says he will describe the Frida experience. I am going to trust him on that.
I started with a glass of sangria. Some of the best I’ve ever had. In fact, if i seem a bit silly…well now you know why. Grubb ordered a starter of clams which came in a ceramic bowl, clams swimming in a light buttery, garlicky sauce.
For the main, I went back to my cod-like ways. Bacallho a Brás. Chunks of cod scrambled with eggs and black olives. Perfect! Also on the plate, arugula dressed with a tangy Vineagrette. Grubb dined on Arroz de palvo com fillettes. Fried octopus fillets with rice. An excellent choice, Grubb says.
We should have skipped the after dinner gelato, but we waddled onward stopping at a place advertising some mouth watering flavors. Alas, these lovely flavors were not available so I opted for chocolate and pistachio. Grubb had cookie and chocolate. None of it lived up to anything we’ve had so far.
